Zion’s Youth Activities
and Outreach
Throughout the year Zion’s youth does a variety of activities
for fun and fellowship!! With many of the youth coming from
different school districts, these times give them a chance
to build Christian friendships.
Middle school youth participate in the fall kickoff event
called the ADVENTURAMA. During the year we do activities like
bowling in Zion’s own bowling alley, have movie nights,
do a Super Bowl party, Murder Mystery nights, Lock-Ins, attend
Lifest every summer, go to “Dells Quake” in the
Wisconsin Dells, miniature golfing, go-karting, and so much
more!
During school months, we also plan and work on Community Service
Projects. We rake lawns, do Thanksgiving Day baskets, make
a Pasta Meal for an area shelter, collect items and put together
Easter Baskets for those in need, make flower pots for
the elderly, go Christmas Caroling to nursing homes and
elderly complexes, and then we find one or two different projects
to do each year. The middle school youth also do a variety
of service projects throughout the church.
High School youth also have activities throughout the year.
We have our own Lock-Ins, outings for lunch and dinners, movie
nights, Scavenger Hunts, participate in Lifest, outing to local
and professional baseball games. We also go bowling, miniature
golf, go-karting, and also plan new and different things to
do each year. High School youth also work on Community
Projects. At the high school level, we adopt families for Christmas,
have our annual “Chili Dump” and make enough chili
to serve all of Appleton’s shelters, we plan a yearly
summer Mission Trip and visit a different place each year to
serve their needs. We go through the organization, Youthworks
to get our work site. This summer we are going to the inner
city of Daytona Beach, Florida.
Zion’s high school youth is also involved in a lot of church
service activities where they help lead the Wednesday night children’s
program, Kingdom for Kids, help with Vacation Bible School, teach
Sunday School, become junior guides for many of the children
and middle school activities. These are just a few of the things
we do! |
